2/1/2015 Antigua

Today we sat around all morning talking to our new roommate Jasmine from Germany. We walked up Cerro de la Cruz at noon and took some pictures. Then we caught a shuttle to Cerro Santo Domingo it has a sculpture garden and a restaurant. We went for the most important thing first, the canopy zip lines. We soared through the trees on a bunch of different cables. The last span was 600 meters and I flew face down. Jill did it sitting style. There were two wires on that ride so we rode it side by side. I wasn’t really scared. It’s like I am a sack of potatoes and they are just sending me to the other end of this wire. You never hear about potato accidents it’s the safest thing in the world. I saw my shadow way down below on the tops of the trees. I think that would be an excellent way to avoid poor roads and traffic jams.
We wandered around the sculpture garden afterwards and saw beautiful art. We returned to Antigua and went straight to an Irish pub to watch some of the super bowl. It was crowded with fans and had a big projection screen. I ordered some dedos de pollo. They were probably not mechanically extruded and on skewers. The place was too crowded and we left after the halftime show. Now we are sitting listening to some live music in a cafe. There are lots of people her too but it isn’t as crowded. It’s a much better atmosphere. It’s a great way to finish a great day.
