Yesterday, we took a stroll around town. We walked to a hostel in Boca Grande and decided to move there on Monday. Jill wanted a window and it’s a little cheaper. Jill bought a dress, and we ate lunch at a place called Puerto Rico. The food was top notch and cost around 10 dollars. After lunch we met a man named Pedro; he was proud of Colombia and invited our questions of him. He runs a website called Yo Creo en Colombia. He even invited us to stay with him in Bogota and gave us his card. Later we watched the sun fade into the ocean. A few clouds were in the sky for a change and made the sunset more spectacular. As we walked around we met a Colombian who wanted to practice his English, and we chatted with him. He recommended that we go to Playa Blanca, which we have heard from many sources. His name sounded like Tyson; he was there with his wife. She didn’t speak any English and sat there smiling the whole time. They’d been married only 8 months. Tyson said that tourists don’t interact much with the Colombians, and he was glad that we weren’t afraid to talk to him. He wanted to learn English, French, German, and Italian. Jill and I kept waiting for him to try to sell us something but he was genuine, I’m so glad we ran into him. For dinner we had Arepas. They are corn patties stuffed with different things and fried until crunchy. It was pretty good although mine seemed overcooked. The server was a delight, laughing and smiling as we ordered.

I just bought our Thursday plane tickets to Bogota through Avianca. The website worked fine this morning. Soon we will pack up and move to our beachfront hostel. It feels like we are finding our groove again.

Everyone should watch the sunset on Sundays.
