Christmas Day here brought more fireworks at noon. I’m not sure why, but midnight and noon were special Christmas firework times. I didn’t do a lot today. I fiddled with the low-flow toilet for a while  but I don’t think I adjusted the flushes correctly. Jill and I watched Gran Torino and The Watchmen on Netflix. The Watchmen is a bloody movie, I forgot that from the first time I saw it. There is almost too much to think about in it as well. I hadn’t seen Gran Torino before. I liked it. It is one of the most diverse movies I’ve ever seen. It’s easy to tell that they are trying to represent the USA as a land of many cultures. Clint Eastwood directed, produced, and stars in it. He throws around a lot of racial slurs and it gets a little distasteful. I would still recommend it.

Now it is bedtime. Tomorrow, Jill and I go back to work. It will be our second to last day here. I’m going to miss this place. I’m going to miss the routine that we’ve gotten into. Moving again will mean no luxury of routine. We are going to make our way to San Cristobal de las Casas in Mexico. We will spend a week or so there. That’s all for now.

Martin! I need to read more ramblings of an ex-pat traveling nomad wanderer…
