Danang, 2/28/2016

We escaped to Danang today. Hoi An became a trap when bike problems and Chinese visas conspire against us. Danang feels different. There is a dragon bridge that breathes fire.

Tomorrow we hope to go to Chu Lai and run around a bit. But maybe I need a new tire, mechanics will own us soon. We hope to be in Hue on the second if the bikes hold up. Then we’ll begin the ride back to Saigon.

Those towns/locations are all a mystery to me. I must take time to study more about Vietnam. Would you say you’ve ridden those bikes the equivalent of Fargo to Mpls. or a lot further? As we get ready for the March visitors we kind of wish you two could be here, too, : ) but so thankful for the internet to keep in touch and see your photos! Thanks!
Just stay safe and healthy. Love, Mom and Dad

Vietnam is actually really long. Ho Chi Minh City’s about 1600k from Hanoi; that’s similar to Minneapolis to Chattenooga TN. We’ve driven a little more than half way between the cities, with lots of circling as well.
