This morning we went to the airport at 7 and had breakfast. It was the best meal I’ve had in Guatemala so far. Huevos, beans, hot sauce, and red sauce with fried banana. The airport in Flores, don’t miss it. Back at the hostel we finished packing and hopped in the van for Lanquin. We arrived in Lanquin 10 hours later. We went from relatively straight roads to mountain roads. We went from a line because of a river ferry to a line because of a protest. We went from tar to gravel. We went from flat fields of corn to steep cliffs of coffee. There were horses, there was smoke and fire in fields, and lots of people along the road. Jill is out of two Dramamine but we still have all the air sickness bags.
Most gas stations have a gentleman with a shotgun wandering about.
We arrived here and we’re swarmed by kids asking where we were staying. It was kind of a sudden introduction. It turns out the kids just wanted to show us where to go. We met Wellington, Max, Pelon, and Freddy who work here. We met Tommy who will volunteer here as well. They all seem nice and we are feeling more at ease with staying here a while. We ate a free supper of burritos. They were a bit underwhelming. Now it is time for bed.

Glad to hear you arrived at your destination – for a while. Where are you actually staying so I can look it up?
