Ibis' share the boardwalk.
Ibis’ share the boardwalk.

I’m reading The Laughing Policeman. I’m trying to finish it before we leave for Mexico. It is a Swedish Crime novel I found here. I like the story and it is taking place with Stockholm winter setting in. It is a good reminder what Jill and I will be missing out on this year. I continued reading it when I woke up this morning instead of going for a walk with Jill. When she returned we decided to go to Captain Con’s for breakfast. It was advertised they were serving breakfast. I thought we should do it for some sentimental reason in the back of my head. I have to say, Jill and I agreed that the coffee was good but that’s all I really have to say about breakfast. On our walk back, Jill went on about the injustice that their isn’t a Mexican or Central American restaurant on the island. She also pointed out how very white the Eagle makes the island appear. I couldn’t argue either point. This afternoon we went to Cape Coral looking for a sunglasses case and came up empty handed. We did go to the 4-Mile Cove Eco Preserve which was neat. It has a mile board walk through a mangrove swamp and interpretive signs. Kayaks can be rented from which I think one can camp on floating platforms in the cove. Then we headed over to the Cape Coral Octoberfest. It was county fair like and full of people having fun. We got a couple beers and I ate a plate of meat. From some nice bakers closing their booth, we got 2 for 1 Apple Strudels. We waited in line for Potato Pancakes but abandoned the idea after seeing the greasy cooking process. Jill ended up having a Chocolate covered frozen banana for supper which she was completely satisfied with. Then we joined a giant German conga line. We all threaded around the tent and past the woman on the floor that twisted her knee. Jill and I called it quits when the ambulance golf cart showed up. We joined the much less fun conga line of cars heading to the exit. One more day down.

That’s probably the blue dressed woman’s arm on the right of the picture.

Thanks for the laugh! What a great day! I took a nap and watched a show about Ebola.
