There was a 6.6 earthquake in Colombia this afternoon. It was near a town called Bucaramanga. The news showed some video from there. There weren’t any ambulances, everyone was upright, and no collapsed buildings. Jill and I were sleeping. We went for a long walk today. She thought we walked 6 miles. We’re staying on the south end of Boca Grande Island now and we walked all the way to the north end of the centro historico and back.Read the rest

Yesterday, we took a stroll around town. We walked to a hostel in Boca Grande and decided to move there on Monday. Jill wanted a window and it’s a little cheaper. Jill bought a dress, and we ate lunch at a place called Puerto Rico. The food was top notch and cost around 10 dollars. I had an oatmeal breakfast with Jill. Then we walked over to the San Alberto Cafe for a coffee tasting with Coralie and Mikhail. We learned about Colombian coffee and the growing and harvesting process. We tried different tastes so we could identify the flavor of salty, sweet, bitter, and sour. That was easy. The hard part was doing the same with different smells.  Read the rest

we found our way to the airport in Panama at 5 AM. I wanted to go back to bed. Our plane was with Copa Airline.  Our flight was an hour yet we got beverage service, a meal, and the smoothest descent I can remember. Jill took a Dramamine and wished she hadn’t. When we arrived in Cartagena I saw a couple white sand islands on the way down and we passed some high rises on the Boca Grande peninsula.Read the rest
